課程概述

The course will be conducted as a major authors course, although we will try to keep in sight the historical backdrop of American literature in the 19th century.

課程目標
To gain a basic overview of the development of American literature through the 19th century, and read the representative works of representative writers.
課程要求
The teacher expects you to preview the readings at home and take part in class discussions. To encourage teamwork, the class will also be divided into groups which will be responsible for giving an oral presentation on assigned literary works. You will have to take one mid-term written exam and one final written exam.
